Norse Goddess Oracle & Rune Insights

As we step into May 2025, the energies feel intense, emotional, and potentially turbulent. Using the Norse Goddess Oracle alongside runes, I pulled five cards to give us a glimpse into the month ahead. This reading focuses on world energy, not just personal experiences—though some of it may resonate on an individual level too.

Cards & Runes Pulled:

Laguz (Saga) – Upright

A card of deep emotions, intuition, and flowing with the unseen currents. It suggests that May may be an emotionally charged month, where the collective feels things more deeply. Water, emotion, and storytelling are themes that may rise to the surface.

Opala (Frigg) – Upright

This energy speaks of motherhood, nurturing, and also unseen wisdom. Frigg, as the queen and seer, reminds us that much is happening behind the scenes. There could be focus on domestic matters, children, families—and perhaps the protection of what we hold dear.

Hagalaz (Hel)

The rune of disruption, chaos, and storm energy. Hel brings transformation through destruction. May could see events that feel like upheaval—natural disasters, extreme weather, or social and political unrest. Crops or resources might be affected, symbolized by storm energy meeting the nurturing archetypes.

Algiz (Syn) – Merkstave (Reversed)

Normally a rune of protection, but reversed, it suggests that boundaries may be breached. There may be breaches of trust, lack of defense, or even failures in government systems or authority structures. A sense that the people feel vulnerable or betrayed.

Ehwaz (Var) – Merkstave (Reversed)

This rune, reversed, points to miscommunication, broken promises, and disloyalty. Agreements may be strained or break apart, whether on a personal, societal, or global level. With Var being the goddess of oaths, this might even point to protests or widespread dissatisfaction with leadership.

The Energetic Summary: Buckle Up

Put together, these cards paint a picture of a bumpy ride ahead. Emotional undercurrents are strong, and with the presence of Hagalaz and reversed runes, we might see flooding (literal or emotional), political instability, and a push from the collective for truth and accountability.
